Mexican pianist and composer Alina Ramirez and bassist, guitarist and arranger Mario Lopez founded
the group in 1991.
They grew up with the traditional Latin music, the formal training of the Classical music and the modern
music theory form the Jazz and contemporary styles.
Always with a team of very prestigious musicians they have performed in the ‘95 and ‘96 Caribbean
Salsa Festival (Cancun, Mexico), the ‘94 and ‘95 Festival Cervantino (Guanajuato, Mexico), the ’97
National Encounter of Soneros (San luis Potosi, Mexico) among others.
Mixing a variety of rhythms such as danzon, son, songo, plena, afro, cumbia, merengue etc, Ireson has
been playing original music in clubs, festivals and parties alternating with many prestigious orchestras
such as: Niche from Colombia, Gilberto Santa Rosa from Puerto Rico, Irakere from Cuba among
others.
During their stay in Singapore they have performed in different kinds of events
such as: Chingay Festival (February 99), Latin Festival at Chijmes (April 99), Mayang
Sari Bintan (June 99), Singapore Recreation Centre (August 99), HO2 Zone (October
99), Latin Concerts at Chijmes (September, October, December 99, January, February
00), Raffles Marina (May 00), Beer Festival at the World Trade Centre (April 00),
American Embassy (May 00), Chijmes Latin Series (November, December 00), Pine
Tree Club (January 01), Latin Festival at Fort Canning Park (April 01 and 02), Mexican
Festival at Marina Bay (September 01), Special functions at the Billiard room of the
Raffles Hotel, New Year’s Eve 02 at the Fullerton Hotel, Ritz Carlton and Westin Hotel,
Chijmes Latin Concert, Concert at the Singapore Conference Hall with the Singapore
Youth Choir. Singapore International Latin Festival at Fort Canning Park, No black Tie,
Kuala Lumpur, Concert for the NAC, Salsa sensations at Marine Parade, Chijmes Latin
Series, No Black tie, Kuala Lumpur (June), NAC-ExxonMobil Concert in the park, Pasir
Ris, Chijmes Latin Series, Mozaic festival and concerts on the waterfront at Esplanade.
They have also performed for TV in Tonight with Gurmit and AM Singapore.

About the main members.

Alina Ramirez, both pianist and composer began her musical studies in Mexico at the age of six. In the
early 1980’s she left her country to pursue a degree in Lyon, France in Classical piano. At the end of
different studies she returned to Mexico and started playing Latin Music with numerous and diverse
musical bands, singers, orchestras etc,
She has performed or recorded with many salsa greats, including Paty Santos, Elena Burque, Alberto
Bermudez and Fabian Garcia from the buena vista social club, Carrasco y su ley, etc.
She has been in charge of the musical direction of  bands such as Son de Merengue and for singers
such as Jorge Hernandez (cuba), Maria Medina (mexico), Paty santos (Puerto rico), Silvina Tabush
(Argentina) among others.
As a composer she has record her music for theatre, dance and film companies.

Originally from Acapulco, Mario Lopez has been playing Electric and Acoustic Bass since 1977.
He has completed degree studies on Classical Guitar at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico
City; he has obtained a degree in Musical Arrangement, Composition and Instrumentalist studies at the
High School of Composition and Musical Arrangement in Mexico City.
Mario has 12 years experience in performing and conducting bands playing different kinds of music,
such as Latin, Jazz and Pop. He has performed and toured with some of the most prestigious artists in
Mexico and Latin-America, such as, Eugenia Leon, Paty Santos, Manuela
Torres, Maria Medina, among others.

Marcela Pinilla from Bogotá, Colombia sings and plays percussion. She has been on the music scene in
her country for the last 12 years playing with the top salsa orchestras and singing all around Asia for
the past 6 years Latin, jazz and pop music, she had the chance to perform in several jazz festivals such
as the Kuching Jazz Festival, KL music festival, Sunrise music fest among others, she has also taken
part of the Asian music recording industry when she had the opportunity to record the hit song ‘Leave
me alone” with the Malaysian artist Resh Muno in 2006.

Fabiola Zuniga from Cali, Colombia is a professional singer, dancer and percussionist that have been
singing since 1982 with renowned salsa bands in her country, with a strong personality and a musical
training. She has recorded 5 CDs and toured around Asia for the past two years.

Lauren Munguia, form Cuba, plays the flute and sings. Graduated from a prestigious college in la
Havana she is the daughter of one of the legends trumpet player from Irakere band. She has toured the
Asian region for the past 6 years and is based in Singapore where she has played in the most important
Latin clubs such as: harry’s, brixs, amara and cuba libre.

John Fernandez is the trumpet and conga player, from Colombia. He has been playing with all the salsa
greats in his country and in Asia for the past 10 years. He has attended festivals in Malaysia, Thailand,
China and Indonesia, always with the best musicians of the region.

Navin Kumar, drummer and percussionist with a long experience in Latin music, has played in
Singapore and Malaysia with many prestigious bands.
